Damage caused by flash floods

Indian Youth Congress members of the Uttarakhand state unit have been involved in rescue and relief work of people affected by flash floods caused by cloudburst in Uttarkashi earlier this month.

Thousands of people in Ganga valley and Yamuna valley were affected by cloudburst. As their homes were damaged severely, a lot of the people were rendered homeless due to the resultant flash floods.

Ever since the region  was hit by flash floods, members of the state unit of IYC have been camping in the area, first helping in rescue missions, and then helping in providing relief to thousands who have been forced to abandon their homes.

IYC workers worked extensively in relief camps.. Tehri Lok Sabha Vice President Mr. Phool Singh Rawat and Gangotri Assembly President Mr. Kanak Pal Singh Parmar, along with their teams helped the victims find shelter at relief camps.
